The Hub’s hockey stars Ashleigh Ball and Nicola White are still in the hunt for an Olympic medal as the Team GB womens hockey team advance to the semi-finals of the London 2012 Games.

Ashleigh (above) was a starter and Nicola a substitute for their final game of Group A on August 6 against The Netherlands, and despite a 1-2 defeat the girls still qualified as 2nd place in the group to the semi-finals, where they play Argentina.

Team GB will play Argentina for a place in the Olympic final and guaranteed silver medals at least on August 8. The match will be broadcast on the BBC’s coverage of the Games from 8pm. Good luck girls!
